https://www.ebay.com/itm/384378838770?hash=item597ec39ef2:g:CwAAAOSw06NhCUfc I sent this to the seller: I tried to submit a Best Offer, but the shipping is more than I would offer for a counterfeit. It appears they used a 1795 off center as a pattern and then used random letter punches and numbers when making the new die. It has interest only as another of many fakes out there on the market. To me, it's worth about $10 as a novelty and $4 shipping. ps 8 Stars left and & 7 Stars right was only used on the 1795. It's the one shown in Redbook, which might be what they used to create their fake.
I saw that when I visited the listing. You know, I don’t fault a fellow for working with his hands…. But geez man. Let your girlfriend hold the fake coin if you are gonna post it on the web.
I used to just use dawn dishsoap and sand from the ground. our soil is sandy here. it worked well enough, better that that guys hands for sure. I think superglue is my nemesis though, I just can't use it without getting it on me.
you know what's worse than that though, coin roll hunting fingers. I watch the youtube sometimes and some of these guys hands start clean, and are filthy by the time the video ends, and they do the close ups and looks like they have infected hangnails, torn cuticles and stuff, like it hurts, yet won't wear gloves when hunting. When I was hunting I'd catch a cuticle on a wrapper here or there myself. I wear flipflops in hotel showers so I don't get the funky feet. they should wear gloves just to protect their hands. especially if they do close ups. worse than Cheetos fingers.
Thank you, I thought I was the only one that gets that stuff on everything but the object I am fixing
