This is a cud, note how the area is raised. Typically the same spot on the opposite side has weakness because of the way the metal flows during the strike.

Hopefully this makes sense.

Your trying to gather opinions and put it into math percentages to make it easier to understand.

If you did a poll and asked is this a mint error, was it damaged in packing at the mint or was it damaged in circulation, you would have 100% saying it was damaged in circulation.

 

Just a damaged cent. Spend it.
