I guess since it is listed on my profile page I might as well post it. I'm 69. [Bevis] Hee, hee, hee, he said 69![/Bevis]
I called my brother shortly after I read this blog. As I mentioned earlier, my brother and I split my father's coin collection. With my part of my father's collection, it got me onto a path of really looking a coins and I was now on the road to being a decent coin collector. However, my brother put his share in a box and put it into their closet. He hasn't looked at them since he got them. It's a shame. I tried to buy them and he said he would give them to me. He has said that 3 times since he got them. I guess he just doesn't want me to have them. I got3 1857 Flying Eagles and 2 1858 Flying Eagles, as well as a lot of IHCs, Eisenhowers, Peace, Morgans, and a lot more.
67 in November Collecting on and off for 54 years. Too bad the internet wasn't around when I first started. Would have prevented me from making some mistakes.
It was. Don't you recall unscrewing the Ma Bell voice and hearing caps and shorting them to hear the numbers somebody was yelling one at a time, copying them down, re-screw the tops and dial to reach the "party line", and there was a gazillion people on the line? Good stuff. My mind wanders. Am I married? Where is my wife?
72 this past…May the 4th be with you! I’ve been a collector since my Grandfather and Grandmother let me search the cash register change drawer at their grocery. There was a pause, however between age 14 and 26. BTW, my wive tolerates both this hobby and golf.
