this is not my coin I have no relationship to the dealer in any way shape or form I’m not advertising this at all

it is however a gorgeous coin and if it was my cup of tea I’d make a play for it the dealer seems to be listing a whole lot of really high-end NGC in your head and Lincoln sense. I suspect somebody sold this guy for a large full collection of high-end Indianhead and Lincoln coins recently they’ve been dribbling out one after another interesting thing about it is that they’ve been selling way over comparable auction price likely due to the toning he’s going to have it’s been interesting to watchThis guy just because the coins are awesome but more interestingly they are selling way above auction levels.

Hey ! NGC list it for $8500 . I guess it hasn't reached full on retail price ? It would be interesting to see how high it goes . People, unlike me or most of us, don't care to much one way or another. They only care about winning and ultimately overpay. IMO

yeah, sometimes the "bidding fever" gets away from them.

Bidding at an auction gives some folks the adrenaline rush, just like jumping out of an airplane.

In this case, at least they have a parachute of sorts. It is a high grade 1955 doubled die. I’ve heard the people are paying high prices for common date Lincoln Cents in grades like MS-66 Red with the emphasis on “Red.” Many rolls of these coins were put away, which increases the potential population. In addition, red copper has a habit of changing color.

The 1955 doubled die is a tough fine with full red color. The pieces with Brown color are much more common.
