    Very nice CN. I'll show the one my aunt gave me in 1948. One of the coins that got me started. It is slightly worn and has a couple of die cracks on the obverse. One die crack is on the same two stars as yours. I like yours, thanks for posting it.

    Remember the 1883 NO CENT is the coin that was gold plated and used as a Five Dollar gold piece.

    The 1883 No Cents Nickel is one of the easiest Liberty Nickels to find in AU or Mint State. The reason is that the practice of gold plating and passing them as $5 gold pieces forced a quick change in the design. A rumor started the the government was withdrawing them from circulation, and the hoarding began.

    Ironically the coin is more expensive than other common dates in Proof because it was only issued for part of the year. Therefore, type collectors, who want a Proof coin for that spot in their collections have increased demand.

    FIVE CENTS was added later that year and they made a lot of them. What was the gold players name, Josh Tatum? Caught but never convicted.
