Ive got various notes with serials ive kept over the years but I am on the fence with this. If you got this in change, which I did, would you keep it?
Hi Mat, It will depend on who you ask but here are a few things most will agree on as it relates to fancy numbers: 1) Circulated notes with fancy numbers have very little added value unless there is something else about the note that makes it rare. 2) a CHCU (perfect condition) trinary note generally doesn't have significant added value. 3) The higher the denomination, the less the premium is 4) Until you get down to three digits - low number notes do not demand much of a premium and see #1 Hope this helps. If the note you posted had 5's and 6's instead of 1's and 9's I would offer a couple $ over face and no more. Good Luck ~ Darryl
Probably not worth significantly more than a dollar, but if you find it interesting may as well keep it. Can always spend it later if you change your mind. If anything that's actually a higher serial number than I usually see, that's not a circualted note cut off of an uncut sheet. Trinary notes are not usually considered "special" by people who collect special serials, so probably not much of a premium there. I might hold on to it if I got it. But it's probably only worth face value.
Interesting - If it was a NY bill with the 911 on it - might be a novelty - but not valuable - Just MHO
