Irish Charles II half penny

    I just wanted to share with everyone photo's of this 1681 coin. As a detectorist it is very rare to find copper coins in such good condition, the soil here in this little corner of the u.k is not kind to them!

    Very neat find.

    Apparently there was not a lot of fertilizer used where you found it.

    That is what, usually, destroys copper.

    I'm wondering if being found beside an old house dump preserved it in some way, cos fertiliser is used by all the farmers here, hence the dire conditions of most copper finds.
