    Hello,
I am new to collecting and couldnt wait to buy my first coins to continue adding to my dads.
So here is the purchase I made today:
Most all coins look to be almost uncirculated looking, no scratches.

    • 30 ike dollars
    • 40 kennedy half dollars
    • 1 1924 liberty silver dollar
    • 9 susan b anthony dollars
    • 35 sacagewa dollars
    • 189 presidential dollars (some new in rolls)
    • and 76 pounds of pennies (roughly $189 face value) - unsearched
Half of the first handful of pennies had 1930-1940 wheats and steel pennies.

    So roughly $400 face value.
    I paid $450.

What do u guys think? Good investment for $50?

First thing do not think investment. Now do you like the coins does it follow your dads coin series? Have you got a copy of the red book to look up your coins? I have no problem with your purchase but keep reading and learning the hobby.

I really bought it for the pennies, lots to search through for the kids and I. :)

That's a great idea. I remember when I was small my father used to bring home a few rolls of pennies every friday for my brothers and I to look through. Of course then they were all wheaties.;)

Your Lincoln cents may be the best part of the deal or the only good part of the deal depending on what you collect. You may be able to find some errors with the president coins but other than the good turn you're doing with the Lincolns. It was basically an uneventful purchase. That said, what really matters is if you're happy with the buy. If you're happy about it, then that is all that really matters.

So far I have found 2 IHC's, 1 buffalo nickel, a ton of really nice penny proofs from the 60's a 1913 swiss franc of some sort, and the coolest thing, an 1863 civil war flour token for Detroit. That is where im from, so thats a nice little keepsake!

The kids are having a great time, and I cant put a price on that!

If your finding coins like that in just a few handfuls.. You Might have a real unsearched Bag.. STUDY ALL YOU CAN.. Don't get rid of any till you know all you can about them.. Variety/ Errors/ Keys!!!
Best of luck to you.. Get your Kids Hooked.. Good for you.
