For people out there that might not no a new guy there are writing on the edge of this coin to. I wish it was in a little better shape but I will take it does anybody got anything about this coin I done some reading about it it seems like it was a pretty nice coin they had come up with but it only was in production for 9 months plus it's got the biggest mintage for a coin out of all that was made done a little bit of reading is it a keeper or just not worth nothing.

The edge writing should be DECUS ET TUTAMEN - "an ornament and a safeguard". This was originally used to prevent people from clipping the edges of silver coins to make a little extra from melting the clippings. Some of them ended up quite small...

It's not worth a lot - very high mintage and this one's seen a lot of action. The words you used were: "I like it". So it's a keeper, at least until you get a better one. :)

What was you trying to get at about the wait thing. I picked up another one I don't know if I should post it right now or not it's a 1990 2 pence it's the better shape one as grade wise but I don't know if they have any value don't want to bother you if you are busy.

At some point didn't you say something about letting your coin collect dust?

I took that to mean you were asking us if you should hold onto it or not, or was that a different one of your many threads?
    I can't keep up sometimes.

or do you mean "the wait thing" as in the weight?

You can sometimes use weight to determine which specific variety of a coin you have.

It was the 50 Pence Great Britain coin where you mentioned "letting it collect dust".
