Why does this coin look like it does???

Shallow sea water ( due to less chemical contamination from human's runoff) can certainly corrode silver in a few years, but deep water submergence slows it down considerably. I think it is possible that if such memorabilia sells at a higher price, a dip in a strong acid for a few days would add to selling value as no way to tell it was faked. Suspicious Jim
