Stopped at a few banks and only found a few halves, but one bank had 7, with 1 64 and 3 40%ers among them. :)

What a shame that you got only 2 40%ers and all of those 90%ers. ;)

WOW, is right. This has got to be the best half find yet. Congrats :hail:

p.s. next time, leave them in the bag so they can eventually end up in a Binks Box in a bank near me! ;)

    $25 Box of Pennies

My first attempt did not yield much, basically what I expected except for the number of disgusting pennies:eek:

    13D, 41, 44, 45, 47D, 51D

For those who care it was about 25% copper.

Six wheats in a box is not far from average - although I have had several boxes with only two. But 25% copper is definitely above average. And a 1913 is certainly not normal to find. The vast, vast majority of my wheats are 58d and 56d.

Went to the bank and picked up two rolls of halves. Both rolls were ALL 1991D and they appear to be near uncirculated condition. Very nice with sharp edges and no nicks, dings, or scratches anywhere to be seen. Pretty disappointed with the results of that little expedition.

    Did search $20 in NICKLES and came up with these;

    1969S
    1970S

    A really nice 1964D

    1940 no MM
    1941S
    1946D
    1952D
    1955D
    1956D
    1958D
    1961D

Probably nothing special there and I haven't taken a really good look at the rest but these were the ones that jumped out at me.

Not sure why a 69S and a 70S jumped out at you. They are normal circulated coins...

Ooops....I listed the $20 as pennies....it was nickels. Anyways, I'm new to the whole coin thing and this is the first roll searching expedition I've done.

Searched $5 in customer rolled pennies:

    1 1952 D
    1 ms red 1965
    1 log cabin
    1 rail splitter

Searched a box of pennies as well:
    20 wheaties most were 1956,1957,1958
    And 1 1927
    2 1960 D small date
    1 red ms 1968 S
1 red ms 1969 S (No scratches wear or anything of the sort she is the best I have seen
    1 red ms 1970 S
    16 log cabin
    11 rail splitters
    4 lawyers
    1 capital

    About 30% copper.
I loved this box, I now have 30 1960 D small date. and I can keep up my goal of having tehe largest amount of wheaties ever.
not to mention the 1969 S has strong MD doubling in addition to its mint state and luster.

So I go into a bank today and ask if they have any half dollars. The teller next to the one I'm talking to has one and an Ike in her tray. My tellers asks if she has any. I see them and state, I'll take those. My teller then picks it up, examines the edge, drops it on the counter and states, it sounds different. She continues to examine it for a good 15 seconds dropping it two more times. She then tells the other teller, "You need to keep that one, it is silver."

That teller gave it to me anyway, but I couldn't believe all of that. (It was a 40%er) Had she kept it, I was going to go speak to the manager. I know tellers take such things, but if it is in plain site and I as the customer ask for it, I think I should get it. Maybe I'm out of line....what do you think and have you had something similar happen?

Total take for the day? 8 banks, 6 dollars of halves with one 67 and one 64. Oh, and one Ike.
