  1. I would like to know the price and the condition grade on this penny I found recently. Here are pictures I tried to take with quality from my phone and the tools I have. 0E0E1321-EED3-4EF7-9064-5C0EBDD67644.jpeg 8BAAD85F-6B3F-441A-B958-ED92AD5EB4DF.jpeg

  3. It’s almost super smooth when I hover my thumb over it. I don't have those numismatic identification books and I couldn’t find pictures of the same coin that looks like those have a similar condition to mine.

Mintage of 392 million, condition I would guess at AG 03. Value 10-15 cents.

More like $.10 at best to me.

Personally, I'd assess this one at the lower end of the G4 grade (but hovering near AG3 as @Lawtoad assessed it).

Which makes it a $0.16 coin per Numismedia. So the previous answers were essentially right.

So you're not gonna get rich off that one (not that you were expecting to). But it's still a 102-year-old coin you can enjoy. It did its work in commerce, and if it could talk, it would have a story or two to tell. That's a big part of the joy of coin collecting for me- wondering where the coins have been and what they got spent on.

PS- I recognize the coin from your earlier post about when you found it. Given that you found that for face value- one cent or less- I'd say you can chalk it up as a small win, regardless of the monetary value.

It's very cool for a circulation find nowadays.

I agree but think you would have trouble finding someone willing to pay even 16 cents for it! There are just too many available in muck better condition! JMHO!!!

  8. Well this is the first for me found in circulation so I will rather keep it than sell it, even if it looks bad.

It doesn't look bad. It's just heavily worn.

And yes, you should keep it. It should have more sentimental value to you than it would have monetary value to someone else.

Just because it's low grade doesn't mean it's "bad". It just means it's less likely to command much of a numismatic premium.

I agree with lordmarcovan, it is a keeper. I see it as a piece of history that has gone through many hands.

Definitely a keeper, especially for a circulation find. It’s just worn but then it is 102 years old.

If just being old and worn has additional value, I'm worth about a million bucks now.

WOW! Read my post again and realized I sounded kind of negative! My bad!!! It's true the condition isn't great, but it is still a neat find! Congrats!!!
