Another Sulla Denarius :D

    Several years ago, when i started collecting ancients & reading into Roman history, i swore i'd get a coin of this dictator....now (at the moment) i have TWO...

    Nice new Sulla!
    Talk about a legacy! We often talk about the Gracchi Brothers starting Rome down the path of dictatorship, but Sulla WAS dictator and opened the doors for Pompey and Caesar.

    ..this time in Roman history is rich...we can see cause and effect of policy changing, where the allegiance of the soldiers went from the republic to the generals commanding them..it would serve as a template for things to come ...:)

    ..kool ..i just recently found out about those earlier kin of Sullas with name on coins also..:)..not to mention i'm bidding on one right now...><

    I was expecting this thread!!!!

    I recall how happy you were when you purchased the first Sulla denarius a few months ago. When I saw it for sale my first thought was "I smell and upgrade"!!
