I'm just sick of ebay...sick of the spam...sick of the scammers... the exposure to problems....fishing emails...heavy handed sellers....just sick of Ebay. Ruben
19Lyds - If you have been bidding on errors as I have - you probably have been beating me to the punch. As a whole, I bid very low. That Talon Head was a cool $8.00 delivered.
I hear ya Ruben! I'd like to toss the entire lot out but with each different one I find, I get sucked right back in!
Ruben, I am not absolutely sure what it is at this point. My first thought was Stike Doubling (Machine) but there is no other Strike Doubling anywhere else on the coin. Just the MintMark So I am reserving putting a label on it yet until I have more time to do research on this. There have been a large number new Ike varieties discovered this past year. Examples: 1971-D,1973-D,1974-D,1976-D Type 1 Repunched MintMarks. There has even been some 1971-D RDV-006 (Friendly Eagle Variety) found with Repunched MintMarks. Stewart
Thanks Jello, That is a great place to learn about Ike's and Ike Varieties I have been a contributing member over there since about February of 2009 and a reader of there site for quite a while longer. Talk about a Great bunch of guys. I love that place:hail: Stewart
I may have asked this before but have any of you ever bought $1000 bags from your bank to search for Ikes and if so is there a chance of finding Peace or Morgan Dollars as well. I can get a bag from one of the banks I deal with as long as i don't return the ones I don't want there. Would it be buying I search a lot of rolls cents nickels mostly and sometime Halves but was considering Ike dollars. What do you think?
Uhhhhh. I think you should pass this up. They're heavy and dirty and will consume the space on a table. Send me the name of the bank and I'll do it. It's a nasty job but somebody has to do it!
I picked up over 50 Ikes frm my local banks this past week, here a couple of them. pretty decent condition I think.
The shop I work at had compiled a pretty large pile of circulated Ikes. They used to pay $1.05 each and eventually it just turned into face value, because they were rarely asked for. A couple months ago my boss hauled $5,000 worth of them to the bank. Sad, but they were taking up room, weren't being sold, and now the shop has an extra $5k to pay bills with.
Thanks Lee, I just love finding those Ike varieties:hail: Here is one I just purchased a few weeks ago. I can't seem to put this one away yet. I keep it on the desk and tend to go over it at least once a day. Has a unique earth on the back for a 72-S I love looking at it. It is in a PCGS 67 Holder
Jello, The wide lettering on the reverse indicates that it is a type 1 The type 2 lettering is thinner and more delicate and it is a beautiful one at that Stewart
