Is there a good site for determining the browning number of a draped bust quarter? I have one from 1806 I'm trying to attribute.
Good question. I tend to just go to HA Archives and wade through the varieties sold until I find one that matches. There is probably a better way.
BTW, the reference I am using is "Early United States Quarters, 1796-1838" by Steve M. Tompkins, pub. 2008 by Tompkins & Destni, Inc.
The 1831 is the B-2, rarity 2. The easiest PUP is the "2" of "25 C." It is the only reverse (B) used that year that has a flat base. All the other reverses used a "2" punch with a curled base. And Reverse B was only used with Obverse 2 that year.
