A copper which is a perfect example of the P-0 (that's a zero) grade - so worn that no details can be seen.

The obverse may have a left-facing crowned bust which would make it most likely European. The apparent crown at the top of the reverse tends to support that guess.

I bet someone sold that as a metal detector find. I've seen people buy those before.

B12,the design is that of a Scots Bawbee of King Charles II (1660-85.).Coins from Scotland are very difficult to find in good condition, especially in the copper. The Bawbee is the nickname for the Scots Sixpence (6d.),which was the equivilant to the English Halfpenny (1/2d.).

Maybe it looked like this (different king tho) at one time.X cross on one side and thistle on the other.
You can see it if you look close..thanks Aidan!

This is a Bawbee of King James V.I have one of his daughter,Mary,
Queen of Scots. It was issued prior to her marriage in 1560 to King
Francois II of France.Like the one depicted,it is an Edinburgh Mint coin. There's a section on Scots coins. You will find it by using the Search function.
