    FWIW - I don't see that.

Is this what a 1983 souvenir set looks like or is this a made up one?

I've never even seen this one before. It is probably either extremely low mintage or was made in more recent times.

The second one is a real good one and a good source for some of the coins. There were at least a few thousand made.

The souvenir sets come in a blue or greenish envelope with souvenir set stamped on them and usually a date written on by hand. Inside is a single package holding the five coins plus a large mint medal.

The typical plastic Philadelphia medal? I also saw some sets that someone put together after breaking out the 25c, they used staples too. LOL. The replacement looks way out of place.

    No.

There are, I believe, four different large bronze medals which are made by the specific mint. There are two used regularly and two for the bicentennial sets.

redbook are out their darn minds...numismedia says: ms-60 is3.00, ms-63 is4.60, ms-65 is 25.00, they go astronomical after that ms-66 is72.50 ms-67 is450.00 and ms-68 is 3750.00 83's are roughly double, the d mints half the 82-p price for both years a little bit more realistic, me thinks, redbook is good for mintages, not prices, they never ever were god at that...imo

Understood...and that's why I indicated "just a guide"...not for today's current, up-to-date/minute prices of certain daily-fluctuating coins, but values that can be extrapolated, projected, etc. for trends and history to at least provide references and indicators of what current values may be...enough to know which to flag/follow-up on...plus they're easy to carry, navigate/access and view...better than other daily/weekly/monthly print guides. One of the first things I always recommend (or give) to an interested YN wanting to learn and reference is a copy of a recent Red Book. Hope that clarifies a bit. ;)

Redbook is way too low on moderns. They are as low on moderns as they are high on classics.

The wholesale price of a chBU '83-P quarter is $550 per roll. These can be as low as MS-60 so long as they are full BU but nobody will pay wholesale for a put together roll of MS-60's. They want nice choice original rolls as they come.

    Here's a 1983 Washington I picked up in 2013.

I think that is interesting, but I would stick with a BU roll of Mercs instead.
