I'm sure it was one of you, so, I just wanted to THANK YOU so much for throwing a Buffalo Nickel into circulation because my little nephew found it in a roll of nickels I picked up for him at the bank. He was SO EXCITED to find that Buffalo Nickel! He has been trying to fill his nickel coin folders that I got for him for the holidays and asks his parents and grandparents constantly to go through their change. He got other kids at school into collecting nickels too. All the adults in the family already know to show him their nickels! I give him rolls of nickels from the bank when I see him. And one of the rolls I gave him had that Buffalo Nickel in there! He was thrilled! So, thank you! You made a little boy's day/week/month and he will probably remember it always, because how many times in his lifetime is he going to find a Buffalo Nickel in a roll? Thank You!
That's an Awesome story of a true actual event !! I wish there were more good things like this happening in the coin Community . Start them young and they'll become "experts"in no time ! Good Luck !!
Great way to keep them busy and learning. I have a couple of great grandchildren getting interested in coin collecting. I send them enough to keep them from losing interest.
My Grandchildren are glued to IPhones and other devices. No interest in my coins, trains, Indian Artifacts, Rocks Fossils, WW1 memorabilia or books
I have several teenage grandchildren and great grandchildren. Some have stayed with us for a week or more. 13 year old girls a couple of them. I never saw their cell phones. Two teenage boys the same thing - never see their cell phones. I'm sure they use them, but not with family to visit. Some are interested in rocks, coins and stuff. There are a few that do have and use them I'm sure. After all we have a bunch of them. One 9 year old that lives up near Waco is very interested in coins.
