IT NOT ONLY has a solid copper reeded edge, it also has the clad missing on its reverse. Has anyone else found one like that? I have read a previous post mentioning "spooning" leaving a smooth edge but the reeding on this quarter is intact.
If you could post some pix we could help you better. From your minimal description, I doubt if spooning is involved in your coin.
Environmental damage. Maybe in a cup holder with soda (beer) The outer clad layer is 75% copper 25% nickel. When exposed to corrosive conditions like in the ground or cup holder the copper color becomes dominant
Good enough! Although I find it puzzling how an entire edge of a clad coin could turn copper with a beer, so I have decided to put this theory to a test. Have to do something with Covid time.
Judging by its color and how it looks. Someone bronzed it with one of the crafting store kits. That's my final answer....
I've had my vaccines, wear a mask, it's my duty to my country and fellow man and it's about cherishing my life as well
You might be onto something there. I've noticed the covid virus coincides with voting. The "delta virus" sprang up out of nowhere at about the time ads on tv started to sprout up talking about the Ca recall vote this upcoming September. What other votes are going on in the next month or so around the country? Or, maybe it's just a coincidence.
