I've heard that they are noisy.
I want a small and cheap tumbler which I would use at my job. I would have it in the basement of the commercial building I work at. I would just clean up each detecting trip then save the coins.

I did another Coinstar visit yesterday for recent detected coins..
They raised the processing fee to 12.5%

    Sucks!

Metal detect in Idaho I guarantee you will go home hungry and broke! That is one great haul you cashed in paddy, I'm jealous.

For non collectible coins, such as cleaning grungy MD finds, I recommend using a vibratory polisher such as used for cleaning empty cartridge cases prior to reloading. Can use walnut shell media, or even cheaper, cleaner and less abrasive, crushed corn cob material which is sold in pet stores for litter in gerbil cages, etc.

I have been spoiled. I have been a depositor in a credit union for over 50 years. About 4 years ago, they put in a coin machine. I had noticed on this site that y'all have had to pay a fee (and a quite high fee) to use your coin machines. They don't charge anything unless you are not a member. Like you displayed, you have to pay a huge rate to use the Coinstar. All I have to do is deposit the amount on my receipt. Is this unusual?
