Thought I would post a few "sunrises" for your morning enjoyment.

Post yours if you got them

I love the idea of this thread. I have often contemplated doing just a "type" set of coins with a certain theme such as "ships" or "native Americans" so seeing a thread with a theme of "sunrise" is really cool and I hope to see some awesome examples.

As a side note, that toning on the first coin looks awesome considering the theme of the coins presented....just like a sunrise!

Thanks for the share. It is unfortunate that your very first photo is of a poorly designed token. The ships hull is out of perspective as are the sails and once noticed, you can't see much else. LOL Just the artist in me I guess.

That first one is the early work of Ron Landis.

Back then he would hand engrave his dies to use for striking coins at various Renaissance Festivals.

Here is the reverse of that one. It is quite rare in silver (most of his strikes were done in brass) and very sought after.

BTW, the 1st, 2nd and 8th strikes above are all done by Landis, all hand engraved.

Well, the sun isn't up in the Zoid hood yet, but it's already rising on a few more pieces of my collection.

A couple of these are downright subtle.

    Let's see yours . . .

    For the new day . . . .

But I believe this one is a sunset depiction. Dude has been hard at work all day.

Sunsets are fair game as well . . . .
