Well, now that we've confirmed the grade, WHY and HOW the grade, any grade...? An "AU58" blank planchet...??? The grading process would need to keep repeating a "mistake" from one inspection point/grader to another and another...hard to figure.
I see a larger number than I imagined, in auctions. The prices they go for are nowhere near the numbers mentioned. I paid under $100 for the one above and I have seen several sold above and below that price.
Struggling to figure out what Ike dollar they made in 90% silver and just can't do it. I'm guessing T-I is just non-upset rims. T-II = upset rims? I dunno... the 1990 Eisenhower centennial coin maybe? But that was West Point and Philly, Not San Francisco, also not sure where the San Fran comes from.... Seems like they made up the ike dollar thing, except for the size of it, it could be any of the 1990s 90% silver commem dollars I think though... I dunno just searching 90% silver dollar planchet and I get a few dozen images from all the grading companies,. doesn't see all that rare. 90% silver "Ike" dollar? I dont' think so though.
Ike's weren't made on 90% silver blanks. So it could be a Peace Dollar, Morgan Dollar or Modern Comm. Dollar blank.
How who determined it was an Ike? The slab doesn't mention Ike. OK Heritage screwed up. Who says it's from San Francisco? The slab doesn't, and in this case neither does Heritage. By wear., although it is easier with a planchet and not a blank.
