Despite getting stuck in the unpaved overflow parking lot on the far end of campus and walking to class in weather reminiscent of Florida, my first day of in-person classes since March 2020 proved to be quite fruitful in a numismatic sense. To that end, it isn't every day that you find a pair of W ATB Quarters for face value, especially when your local banks hold onto rolled coins like an old miser.
Glad your not in Tennessee?the flooding and devastation is unbelievable my father was ok when I talked to him a day ago.
Congrats on the finds! My daughter is also a college sophomore. She’s moved into her first apartment- no dorm, this semester. She’s also just gotten the plague of the era, despite being vaccinated. The day after her diagnosis, she sent pictures. From a hike she took. (!) Ahh, to be young, strong, and fit again! Her biggest complaint is not being able to taste it when she eats ice cream.
I live in Tennessee at the moment. My family used to live in Florida back when my father was still in the U.S. Navy That flooding was several counties over. Tennessee is prone to flooding, especially in Nashville and the surrounding areas.
Great! You know, I especially like those with the privy marks. In the future, rather than a plethora of different quarters, it would be nice if current coins (all denominations) could have marks denoting the commemoration of whatever. Current notes could have discreet overprints in clear spaces.
It’s not a bad idea. And it would save the government money, and they could still make a premium on the stuff.
Congrats on the "W"'s. Haven't found any, but to be honest, haven't looked either. Lived in Tennessee all my life. N.E. corner. Love the area and most of the people. They probably say the same about me. Centrally located to most of the Eastern half of the U.S. College was 40+ years ago. I remember the long walks in from the parking lot. Good luck and keep us posted.
Way to go!! Lucky you!!! I'm still looking for 4 of the W quarters!! Just went through $250 worth this week and no W's! Bummer!!
