Take the coins out immediately and really there's nothing that can be done but keeping it still is your decision.

Get those coins out of that folder and recycle it. Welcome to CT.

The folder is destroyed but the coins may not be. IN order to prevent any further deterioration of the coins from the holder and the staples rusting, remove the coins immediately.

Thanks all, is it worth sending it in to be cleaned and resealed?

The coins or the folder? The folder is NO. Recycle it.

You can probably find that folder on ebay if you keep an eye out for it. Then transfer your coins over....but that one is toast.

Read up on conserving coins. Try using the most conservative of the methods and progress upward. You may be surprised at what simple distilled water may do to conserve a coin. Good luck!!

If the coins can be conserved and/or are still in decent shape, recommend not using another similar album-type holder. Buy some quality 2x2 flips or some capsule or airtight holders...maybe even a custom holder for Mex coins.
