    Pisidia, Selge AR Obol Circa 350-300 BC Obverse: Facing gorgoneion with protruding tongue Reverse: Head of Athena to left, wearing crested Attic helmet; behind, astragalos References: SNG France 1928. SNG von Aulock 5281 Notes: Archaic style and a scarce variety with Athena portrait left. Possibly pre-dating the usual date of 350-300 BC typically assigned to this type.

    It is an interesting market for price fluctuation- in various conditions this coin has sold for a low of ~20 and a high of ~600, it has nice provenance (E.E. Clain-Stefanelli) and is an Alexander III lifetime coin, with interesting history & in my view good looking. I posted a writeup here. All in, this was about $65:

    I think my bid was 150 and it sold for around 60.

    Bought this one to replace a sestertius Galba in my 12 caesar bronze set , the sestertius was too big compared with the other bronzes.

    Here's an upgrade I made earlier this year to my denarii set. My old Domitian felt too "standard" and I like this type much more.
