And I paid for it, but here she is! Now I have to wait for next week for the dealer to get back from the coin show in Georgia to ship it to me! I saw this coin at a local show in June and have been to 2 other shows trying to track it back down. Then I just waited about a week for the images to come back from her photographer to get a real good look at it. I hadn't actually held it in hand at the show because didn't have the money that day. Didn't want to tempt myself then... The only thing wrong with this one is it needs a reholder and truview!
I've been considering a details VG/F one for about $200, mind if I ask the obvious question? (how and much, lol).
I bought what I thought was one about 6 months ago. I didn't buy the slab but the coin was mis attributed by pcgs as a small stars. It was actually the o114 large stars. Once I received it I realized it and returned it. The seller has resubmitted and got it properly attributed now. It was also F15 with CAC. Was a beautiful coin but I wasn't paying small stars price for a large stars variety. It was very eye appealing to me but not like that. Then to have to resubmit it myself too and resticker it. This coin especially with CAC is very difficult to even locate. I called many places. Some almost laughed at me saying they hadn't even seen one in x amount of years. I saw this at a show in June a week after I had bought a new car. I used my extra cash for the down. I walked by it without even looking because I knew I didn't have the money. I spent one day calling around trying to figure out who had it. Somehow I missed this dealer then. Then when I found it then images weren't done and the coin was with the photographer. So another 2 days go by and finally I wake up to the email with the images! I got up got dressed and went to the bank with the cash to deposit.
Here is the pcgs pop report for the 1807 4 major varieties. Also the cac pop report. Ngc isn't as easy to screen shot but I counted 44 graded small stars over there between the O-113 and O-113a
She’d sure look good in my collection. Glad you got her! Every time I look at this coin my attention is drawn to the top star on the right. Is that a die clash from behind Liberty’s cap to the star?
Yes I do believe it looks like the arrowhead clashed there. The dealer is in Georgia at the Dalton show this weekend. It'll be this week before it ships. But the seller is the next state over. I'll probably get it the next day. I can't wait to get my loupe on it. I literally searched everywhere daily looking for a small stars coin for probably about a year now. And the wait is like ahhhhh
For years I’ve been looking for 2 Peace Dollars and I am being very specific. I finally found one but this last one still eludes me. Patience, one day it will come.
I feel the same. I’m desperate to get it but I’m not going to lower my standards as it would be the only coin in the entire set that fails to meet my criteria.
I know if I didn't do this one right I'd do it over. I didn't want a hole filler. I didn't even really want to buy this coin without cac. Most of the ones I looked at without the sticker probably wouldn't get one. It really needed to have a nice strike more than anything.
It came yesterday, her pictures are better than mine but nothing compares to having it in hand after so long of a search.
