After being received one day ago for Appearance Review over at NGC, Craig called me today on my cell to inform me they nearly removed the fingerprint and the coin looks much better. This was FAST handling time. Go NGC!! I should have it at my California address in a week so it should arrive just in time for when I get back to the West next week. This is GREAT news! It's even in a BRAND NEW NGC Holder(Still AU58).. Woohoo! bnb
And a new camera to take new close-up photos of the coin when returned. :thumb: Will be interesting to 'see' how "nearly" translates when you can image and post the coin.
According to RLM I need a Macro lens for that camera so not yet.. I don't wanna spend another $600 for a Macro lens either.. bnb
Not sure about your model camera, but there do exist cheaper macro lens filter attachments that can be added to the front of some lenses to enable close-up photos. While not a true macro, you can extend your existing lens without specialized and pricey macro equipment. I think dougsmit already mentioned to you kenko extension tubes. look into it before you buy a dedicated macro lens, unless you plan on lots and lots of macro work in future.
Don't know what happened to some of the eariler threads about BNB as they seemed to have disappeared. So I probably missed a bunch of info there... but I hope that BNB isn't "on leave" too long as I was looking forward to seeing some updated pics of the conserved 3-legger shot by his new camera set up.
Well I'm sure you have more info than some of us. BNB will get word in here somehow I'm sure. hya: He seems like the type of guy who could break into a jail if he wanted. I don't know what happened but I'm sure it was just a misunderstanding. :secret:
