A number of years ago my wife and I went to Louisiana to visit family. While there we took a tour of a sugar plantation. I enjoyed the your so much I was given this aluminum token by the guide. We were the entire tour group and they sold these for $1.00 each but it was nice to receive it. The memories are great.
Yes, sugar is sweet. LOL All kidding aside, one thing that really left an impression on me was the bedroom. A large double bed that almost touched the ceiling. A crib, a single small dresser and a rocking chair. That was all that was in the bedroom. On the headboard of the bed, on the side that faced the wall, was carved the name and birthdate of each child. All 5 of them.
