1983 Lincoln Cent Damage or Ear Error?

    Hello, I need some help to understand what is going on with his ear. It's a double or just damage or error?

    There is a die chip on the earlobe.

    No only.....look on his eyes....I think finally I founded something interesting.....

    I see nothing on his eyes. And around the ear is remnants of the hair details with most of it worn away to smoothness due to circulation wear

    A lot of wear. No doubling, not an error. I agree with @expat it appears to be a die chip on the ear now worn down. What does the coin weigh?

    Good question....I will do today....I forgot that they can be copper.

    1982 was the transition year for copper being replaced with copper coated zinc.
