Hey everyone. For those that couldn't make it, I hope you enjoy this thread. I tend to get too wordy so I'll try to let the pics do the talking. Sorry I had to edit a couple but you'll get the idea. This is but a fraction of the pics I took. First, an advertisement for the Iphone 11 Pro Max... A panoramic pic of the show from the entrance when you first walk in. NGC is blue table to the right and PCGS was on the left. And here was a panoramic from once you walked to the hall down the right and looked back into it. Looking back towards the entrance:
Here's showing the scale and set up of the Tyrant collection. So well done. I should have gotten a better pic of it but it was difficult to get it all in. This one is from one side of it. Picture a large U shape and this was the outside of one side. It was straight in front of entrance in the far back. This was inside the U shape. King of Siam set in small stand alone case: I initially walked in here and was in awe of all the proofs and stunningly high grades. The amazement continued once I realized the collection continued around the outside. Here was the back of it:
One of the two stellas: I should have gotten a pic of the MS-64 half disme that was in the corner overshadowed by everything else around it. I believe in that grade the half disme was about a $500k coin. And your eyes weren't even drawn to it. lol
There were hundreds of collectors exhibits on the side that I got to take a peek at on the way out. I didn't get a pic of it all but this was an interesting find in the middle of it. Some will think it's cool some won't... Looked like the real deal but idk if it was a copy.
Finally what I picked up in my travels through there. Just about everything I came for minus a couple. Honestly a successful coin show for me would normally be bringing any one of these items home but I hadn't been to this in 10 years so I decided to go all out (by my standards), sell and trade bullion and a few extras coins here and there.
NGC gave these out to the first 30 registry members in the door each day. Pretty neat keepsake. Then my first purchase was this Morgan. I already have multiple 1880-S versions and did not come here for Morgans but it happened again. This one grabbed me and said take me home. NGC MS-64 star:
Then I found this for my US Type to replace a cleaned one. Went and sold some things and came back for it. NGC MS-64FH Got a great deal on this 1937-D Oregon Trail PCGS MS-66. Blast white, no spots:
NGC MS65+ Check! (I just wanted one) And finally after searching and searching for a Flying eagle cent in any grade and then one under four figures, my last 30 minutes there I found one to my liking for the US Type. PCGS MS-62 Still a little luster remaining. A little difficult to photograph. With that one I was tapped out and I left.
The ANA sent an email today saying some of the dealers came down with covid. Just to let everyone know so it was undoubtedly in the air at some point. Not surprising.
