Yeah, Sal, that's what I meant. It looks like it was encased. That's how the edges look from being held in there. The casing has to be tightened or the coins will fall out.
Perhaps it has personal significance to the original owner, the point is moot though as we can't really know unless the owner speaks for the coin.
