Ok, here's the ulr for a 2008 No P Satin finish coin for $45.99. Of course all 2008 satin philly cents are not marked with a mint mark and currently sell for around $2. So, this guy is trying to make you believe this is an error coin like the famous 1982 No P Dime. What would you ask him next? I'll post his responses as he replies. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...:X:AAQ:US:1123 I wrote to him and said: I haven't heard of this mint error. Is it a rare error? Thanks He wrote back and said: I haven't heard of it ether, but can plainly see there's no P mint mark on it. Thanks Daniel I wrote back: How many of these do you have? Are you willing to make a deal on a quantity of them? If so, how much? He wrote back:
I would play along with him, Its obviously a scam! he,s trying to Act dumb, Out smart him and act dumb to, Say something like Hey i just found out it was an error and leave him hanging!!
Or say that you have a whole bunch of cents with out P's and ask if he will buy them at half he is selling them for...
Wow, His stuff is silly! Do you guys think sellers like this make money. Are there really enough buyers going through learning experiences?
I offered to sell him 10 Rolls for his single coin asking price..LOL I can be jerky in the morning.. Sorry COFFEE!!!!!
Since, for some reason, there are two of these threads, I will post my comments from the other one here also. Because you can read other that what he says into his listing does not make it violate any laws. Even your implied statements do not violate any regulation I am aware of. However, aside from that, in this country you are innocent until proven guilty. People are reporting him. For what? Selling a cent "with no P"? Trying to sell a cent for more that it is worth? Allowing someone to misinterpret what he says? There is nothing he has said that is not true. On the other hand, what I do know that will happen if you keep annoying this seller is that you will be kicked off eBay. Yep! Your messing with him will cause you to disappear and eBay will boot you And, yes, I can site you the rules. Am I a lawyer? No. But I can read and have read most of the eBay rules. You should try reading them. That way you might not "interfere with other users' listings". Read more: http://www.cointalk.com/t87081/#post783418#ixzz0cEBKx0Ql
No S*** If he had said it was a "No S" ***...then we would have a case because the Proof is not there. So I didn't bug them. Just put them into "ignore" column. Now my coffee has been consumed. But my caviar dish is emptor
statequarterguy probably need to lose his boner for this eBay seller, statequarterguy probably need to lose his boner for this eBay seller, if not for the seller for his own serenity - I've seen so far worse in my time as to make this look tame, very tame!!!
Like I told you in the other thread, this guy has clearly violated the law and shown his intent to deceive. And like I asked you in the other thread, since you're selling on eBay, what name are you selling under?
Maybe unfortunately but true. If someone wants to sell a cent with no S or D on it, no crime has been committed. It's sort of like saying I am selling a painting frame to house the Mona Lisa. Or I am selling a radio that will fit into a Model T Ford auto. Or I am selling a flag of the USA with no stars, no stripes, no colors of any kind. You just can't say a person is breaking a law of any kind by using terminology that is intended to fool the foolish. If I was an ebay seller I'd sell used dirt. I've got a lot of that in my yard. No, not new dirt, just old used dirt.
I agree. Now my real question is - what is the grade of the dirt? I assume it is no longer mint state.
Jasper Johns did that. Sold a painting of an American flag all in white. White stars on a white field with white and white stripes. Went for $25 million.
And statequarterguy did not have him arrested? That has got to be misrepresented, misleading, unpatriotic, plus a couple other adjectives.
