Why do they start a 4 digit coin at $30 with a $1 bid Increments increase? 20 days of $1 dollar bids, not understanding the idea.

I was very pleased with how the auctions went. Some items went for more than I expected, some less. I was so pleased with GC's service that I am waiting for a shipment from PCGS in order to send those coins to GC.

Friend of mine recently sent 30 coins to GC, most have sold and he's sending another 20 next week. He's very pleased with the way they do business and with the results. Your mileage may vary.

I highly recommend GC and the reason is their customer service is outstanding. I’ve only sent in a few hundred coins but have always been pleased and occasionally shocked on what a bean can do. Ian also answers his own phone. You can’t put a price on that.
If money was the only concern, I do it myself.

I've tried Emailing them through all 3 Email addresses for over a week no reply, tried calling them for over a week with busy signal or just endless ringing, also the website contact form does not work.
everyone's experiences can vary greatly but I might not bid anymore because it's hard to believe no replies back after paying for my auction.

You may have missed the fact that most everyone was at the Chicago ANA show for the past week. I’m guessing you didn’t leave a message. I did and received a prompt call back.

If you know youre going to sell through them its cheaper to submit through them.

I've been both a buyer and seller with GC for a number of years and have no complaints. I'm comfortable with their auctions and like the quality images they generally use. I've found good coins on Heritage but generally I feel I pay more as a buyer for like coins since their fees are higher than GC. I haven't sold any coins through Heritage (one exception) due to their higher seller fees. The one exception was a 1983 no S proof dime I bought in a Heritage auction. About 6 months or so after the auction I was contacted by Heritage that a buyer was interested in buying the coin. I ended up accepting the buyers offer (Heritage charged a sellers fee) since I made a decent profit.

Thanks, I was aware of that but not all the coins are going to GC. I also wanted to use my voucher.

if I find more that need certification I’ll likely send them directly to GC.

Speaking of HA, what’s the draw? I see it as “lot #212….sold at $1200.

My coin, same year and grade, “pointing out” it’s Top Pop status on Ebay sells for $3,549.

HA didn’t even have the forethought to mention it’s population.

I get that, I just sometimes forget how much cheaper it is to use them for things you know will be sold. Dont really have a choice though if the vouchers are about to expire lol

I do not know anyone who has went or might even be aware of it, depends on your social circle. any business that is distracted from normal daily business should hire more help or post more information to make customers aware of any delays.

While i understand being in big events allows them to advertise and make business connections that's vital to the market they are in they can still cover most internet/websites responsibilities with a laptop and an internet connection so long as they have someone able.

With next years new tax laws GC will have to be more integrated with a network of dealers as many of us "little collectors" are going to bulk at getting a IRS tax form for any emergency sales over $600 especially those selling a few coins to just keep a roof over the families heads or food in the fridge.
The sales power is shifting back to dealer networks regarding coins in the near future.

Have you tried calling a grading company recently? On hold for hours.

This was one of the first big coins shows in years due to the pandemic, which by the way appears to not be going anywhere, so perhaps they left nobody behind.

    It sucks being left behind.
We had a World Title shot for one of our boxers and yup, I got left behind.

Yet I left a message and it was promptly returned. Heck, nobody even listens to VM messages anymore, at least in my circles.

Depends on who you are? I bet certain dealers including auction houses like GC it would only be a few minutes:greedy:... not that i'm knocking that ...it's just how the world works.:singing:

Well kinda funny but a certain grading company on their mobile app scripted the wrong number which just so happened to connect to a busy signal all the time. I posted a thread asking why customer service always had a busy signal. They responded in the thread that it should never happen as they have a hold for the next representative. When I figured out they had the provided the wrong number (inverted digits) I posted to let them know. It got a short laugh from a few posters before it went POOF…and did I get a thank you? Or maybe you’re wonder if I got some grading vouchers? No, instead I got BANNED.
