    Genio Caesaris as Caesar (Heraclea)

    Genio Imperatoris as Augustus (Heraclea)
    ru4130bb1402.jpg

For those who want to cover all bases with one coin, look for a Genio Caesaris as FIL AVGG from Thessalonika.

Maximinus II Diai As Caesar Bil Follis Carthage Obv Head right laureate Rv Carthage standing facing head left RIC 40b 10.38 grms 28 mm Photo by W. Hansen diai5.jpg
According to Wikipedia Diai was the last Roman Emperor to be given the title of Pharaoh. He persecuted the Christians who gleefully record that he endured a rather nasty and humiliating death

ominus, Your nummus looks like the same mint & officina as the coin Doug posted :p. My only two coins of Daia are posted below. The Cyzicus coin was struck from fresh dies, & the London coin was struck from well worn dies.

Daia Sol from Ostia. Is that a die break causing that weird protrusion from his head at about 11 o’clock on the obverse?

Here's my Maximinus follis. I don't have many Roman Imperial coins, but I couldn't resist this one, as a complement to my Maximinus counterfeiters mould from Alexandria Who could?
Unfortunately, I couldn't find one with the matching N-E in the fields, so I had to settle for N-Γ.

Also, I found out buying follises can be dangerous. Buy one or two, like I did, and you're ok. But buy 3 or 4 more and you're addicted. Just look at some of the coins posted in this thread. Big, wet, slippery slope. And we all know how that ends...;)

I think this one is neat because in the reverse legend, it looks like the engraver made an error and then re-engraved it-- the first S of CAESARIS has something under it.

Here's mine, RIC VI Antioch 132a. It's in RIC, but I haven't seen a single other example anywhere.

I think I must have meant up for sale/auction when I wrote that in my notes. I definitely would have looked at OCRE when IDing it.

Here’s a Maximinus that’s a bit harder to find. RIC VI 75 and 77 (Maximinus Ostia) are nearly the same coin with RIC 75 having a cuirassed only bust and 77 having a draped and cuirassed bust. RIC 75 is fairly rare but there are examples out there. RIC 77, my coin, is extremely rare with only one other example I could find in many hours of searching databases, references and action records.
