    Entry post.
Thank you @lordmarcovan for your continued generosity.
I do not own a piece of gold, yet. I've posted pics of pieces that i may inherit, but as of right now, the only gold i own, is my wedding band, therefore...
I'd put second or third place prize credit towards that dime of yours, I've been eye-balling.
Thanks again. Glad to see you back.

Thanks. I was outgunned in both equipment and expertise by my other colleagues on that England detecting trip, and even though all but one were older (I was not quite 48 at the time), I was outclassed in physical stamina as well: far too out of shape for the long days of hiking, detecting, and digging.

And that showed in the results- mine were the least impressive of the group. However, I still did OK, and found some cool stuff. Saw the other guys find some really cool stuff as well.

I have owned a gold coin before. If I win, I would like: Prize B: United States: bronze 2-cent piece, 1865 Prize C: Roman Provincial (Cappadocia, Caesarea): silver hemidrachm of Hadrian, ca. 120-121 AD

    Thank you for the contest!

    (Sorry, belated reply)

    @TTang - so you’re a YN, eh?

Well, here’s an extra bonus entry in the contest for you. Another ticket in the hat, so to speak. ;)

So later, if the random number generator picks the post number of this reply (#125) OR your original entry (#115), you’ve won a prize. It’s still random, but this bonus entry effectively doubles your chances.

    Good luck! :)

Cool clowder of cittens (see what I did there ;) ).

I do own Au coins. Good luck to those entered into that part of the drawing.

As for the 2nd and 3rd drawings. I'm torn Rob. As always you make choosing the prize very difficult with the awesome selection you present. That being said, I'd have to narrow down my list to these:

    - Flying Eagle Cents
    - Capped Bust Half Dollar
    - Roman Empire: silver denarius of Trajan, ca. 98-117 AD; Mars advancing (because I don't own any ancients and a silver one would rock it for my first)
    - Bronze 2 Cent Piece

I could go on and on, but I'll leave it at that, for now ;)

Thanks Rob. As always, your generosity is just amazing.

    Good luck everyone!

Entry post: I have never owned gold, but I'm looking forward to changing that someday. As to what I'd put the store credit toward, the Heroes of Maidan medal and Hawaiian dime both look very interesting.

I’m glad to see the Maidan medal getting some love at last. You’re the first person I can recall expressing any interest in it. I think it’s a neat piece, and interesting in the context of recent history.

I was surprised to see that it was still available, to be frank. I figured that somebody would have snapped it up by now.

I don’t promote my small For Sale inventory much, so most folks who do see it came here from giveaways like this (which draw from the same inventory, usually).

The first gold coin I ever had was a two peso gold that was given to me by a company called "First Coinvestors" in the late 60's. Sorry no photos, posting from a bed in a convalescent home (sigh)

Hey, @Kentucky - keep yer chin up, fella.

Perhaps you’ll be happy to hear that I thought of you yesterday when I came across this- I still have that attractive circ 1917 Type 1 quarter I bought from you.

This post is an extra bonus entry post for @Kentucky, to cheer him up. If the random number generator later selects the number of this post, he’ll win, same as if it lands on the entry he posted himself. It is still a random drawing- this is just a second entry to boost @Kentucky’s probability a little bit, is all.
