Just wondering if anyone has used these? A Chinese seller on ebay has some. Curious if the coins fit snug? Are they decently made? Screenshot_20210813-075326_eBay.jpg Screenshot_20210813-075339_eBay.jpg Screenshot_20210813-075356_eBay.jpg

Those are sold by Chinese manufacturers to counterfeiters who slab coins in them, print out fake PCGS labels and then sell them as if they are real and graded by PCGS.

I wouldn’t support criminals by buying from them and yes counterfeiting US currency is a criminal act even if they are in China and untouchable. It’s no different than printing fake $20 bills.

Sadly if there is one thing China is the best at it’s faking stuff created by other countries. :(

I don't think they are made to fool anyone. Just another holder. I do question if the plastic is safe for coins.

Notice that the letters "PCGS" are NOT on lower right of the front of the slab.

If it truly is similar in composition perhaps you could 'sonically weld' it yourself. At this point archival quality plastics aren't an American secret technology. But I do know there are more 'NGC style' ones that are popular here in the states. They seem pretty nice and allow some cool customization.
I have BCW 2x2 inserts in my binders and they have been fantastic. Light, thin, and snugly fit. They have slabs like this, but the inserts to hold the coin are separate. They aren't as advanced, but you know what you're getting more than you would from some Chinese ad, which seems to be a gamble at times. Hope you find something that works.
Don't know where you got that out of thiso_O. It's very different than making counterfeit cash.

Counterfeiting US legal tender of ANY kind is viewed equally under the law.

It doesn’t matter if it’s $1 bills or ASEs with a $1 face value.

I’m not talking about the slabs themself but what they put in the slabs and sell to unsuspecting customers who think they’re getting the real thing.

In fact I know someone who bought a 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 ASE set in fake slabs just like that. Eventually he realized it was fake when the label started peeling off when authentic NGC slabs tuck the label under the plastic thing.

probably it's the same slab PCGS buys from the same manufacturer in china. i don't think there's a patent on this type of thing with so many of them all quite similar.

I know. I’m not condemning anyone for buying the slabs.

All I’m saying is that slabs like this seem to try to replicate TPG slabs and that I wouldn’t buy one myself since I don’t want to support that kind of thing.

I just have some bust halves I want to store until I can get them submitted. The seller has 32.5mm ones. I won't use a 2x2 for anything. No matter what kind of staples are in them. And haven't found any other suitable holders that I like. There's more stuff available in other sizes. And I don't like the ngc style ones.

Have you considered an airtite capsule?

Those are pretty good and they even come with foam inserts so the edges have a soft cushion.

I can't find any that size. Right now I bought some regular halves with the foam and took the foam out. But the coin is loose.

Trim the foam to secure the coin.

Well, there actually IS more than one thing they're the best at, but we've been admonished not to bring it up again. Personally, I wouldn't knowingly/voluntarily buy anything from them.

I just read your reply and noticed BCW as a company for ordering slabs. PLEASE EVERYONE TAKE NOTE... Approximately 1 year ago I ran out of self seal coin 2x2's and in a pinch I ordered several boxes of BCW "Peel-N-Seal" 2x2 holders and replaced several coins that I had purchased from individuals and estates that had staples in them, unfortunately the 2x2's I normally order from Amos supply was out of them and being the impatient one that I am I ordered the BCW's fro Amazon.
During the heat wave we have been having here in SW Missouri, I have stayed inside and have been moving all my coins to a new coin program. THAT IS WHEN THE TROUBLE BEGAN, I started noticing that the BCW holders were releasing and not staying sealed, in fact some of the coins were completely out of the windows.
It would not be so bad if it were one or two but as I started checking all my coins, the ones I put in BCW holders the MAJORITY of them were no longer sealed. The ones I was working with this morning (Kennedys) ALL OF THEM HAD RELEASED.
Unless you want to reseal all or most of the coins in your collection, I would consider other companies and in my opinion NOT BCW.
Sent in hopes of saving you a headache.
