AU50...and I do see luster, if more on the reverse, but photos are hard to evaluate. In experimenting with taking coin photos for the first time using my wife's cell and the box/book method to stabilize, it's the luster aspect...bringing it out for what it is...that I'm having the hardest time with.
I had one similar to this, but generally better looking overall (there is a fair amount of wear on the eagle's wing). I would call it an EF 40 to 45 45 as well. I sold mine for $225 at the recent coin show in Orlando. I paid $330 for that coin years ago and I know mine was at least dipped, I never saw any whizzing however. Mine had no luster at all.
I concur, a very nice XF-40 - 45 1833 Bust half without issues. In my opinion luster never supersedes wear when grading a coin.
