    Hi guys,

I have a 1995 P Roosevelt Dime and noticed on the obverse right side that there are serrations near the edge of the rim. Is this also considered a collar clash? I normally see the serrations along the top of the rim when there is a collar clash. 1995 P Roosevelt Dime (Obverse).jpg 1995 P Roosevelt Dime (CloseUp).jpg 1995 p Roosevelt Dime (Reverse).jpg

Might just be a hit from the reeded edge of another coin?

It does look like a collar clash, especially with it being on the narrow side of a
    mis-aligned die.

And what's with what @Treashunt mentioned at the eye on that dime. Die chip?

Nice collar clash. A great find and a definite keeper. Now what is that just under his eye?

It is a collar clash and a rather extreme one. Typically with a collar clash the "gutter" around the edge of the die that forms the rim is what hits the edge of the collar. In the case of this coin the die was off enough that the field of the die hit the edge of the collar.

Thank you very much for your informed answer! I was confused as to whether this was in fact, a collar clash because I have only seen serrations on the top of the rim. I am very happy now and will keep this one in my album.

Keep a note with it with the details, as some are quite mild and others are stronger, like yours. They can also get more extreme on the rim like this

I woulda thought MAD, but if Paddy says it's a collar clash, it's probably a collar clash!

It is a MAD. The MAD is part of what caused the Collar Clash.
