I find it much more rewarding collecting sets. I recently purchased the 2017A PG22000022B note but have had the others for a few years now.
I collect old U.S. currency but I am not selective on numbers, maybe I should be! You gave me something to think about, thank you. Great post.
I know there isn't any money in collecting sequential serial numbers on $20 bills, but I like to do it. I don't make a special effort by asking the teller/bank for $20 bills in sequential serial numbers. I do like to collect the $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100. I have been doing this for over 20 years. I bank with a State Employees Credit Union and they have been very nice to me. The only thing I ask when I cash a check is to get currency that is "fresh" and I've only been told a couple of times that they were getting low on $20 and asked me to come back tomorrow. The next day, I was give $500 in crisp bills in sequential serial numbers. I thank them. One thing that helps is that my wife taught high school in our small community and she taught almost all of the employees. Most of them remember her by her maiden name and I am called Mr. (her maiden name). I licked to be addressed by my name.
That’s AMAZING. AFTER the first 2 20’s. I was hooked. That was great fun checking all of them and your new bonus looks like your going to get them all later the sooner. Thanks so much. Was wild
