We have 102 people that have voted now! But, my goal is 500, which I believe is achievable if many participate. 1,000 people would be nicer though . . . .
Usually at the Alstate Area flea market there are from 4 to 10 coin dealers. At the Swaporama flea market on Lake Street just West of Manhiem Road, not sure of the suburb's name, there is always one coin dealer and usually there on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. That coin show in Itasca is the easiest one to get to since right on Irving Park Road, over the bridge, just past the train station. Best one of the standard 4 for prices also. I go to all the coin shows but haven't been going to the Lemont one much.
I'm shocked you go to that one on Clark Street. Way to well known for overpricing and cleaned coins. And I too go by there all the time. If you like coin stores, go to the many coin shows and ask the dealers for their cards. You would be amazed at how many GOOD coin stores trhere are in this area. Many, many of those dealers at the show either work for or own a coin store.
Yikes! I had no idea I was close to an outlier . . . 52 . . . that seems so darn old when I write it down . . . do I get bonus "young" points because I jam on electric guitar with my teenage son and his friends? (And I'm decent enough that his friends still think I'm cool?)
In 6 months, I could have voted in the 41-50 category both for how old I am and how long I've been collecting.
18 here. More 11-20 than I expected. So far i'm the youngest to have posted a post. As long as i didn't miss anything.
OH NO - I feel an infraction coming on. I just noticed the poll does not go out far enough for doug to vote. Just kidding and I think you just a years older than me. I am also suprised at the 11-20 range, but glad to see it. I expected my age range 41 to 50 to be the highest number. And I closer to 50 - actually 47.
47 and my beard's not grey. It's white. I use this as an example when customers ask me how to clean coins. An old coin should age just as my facial hair does. No shame in that.
