1803 Large Date 1c - Small Fraction

    Looks like small date to me

    The placement of the 1 and 3 seem to match large date... image coinfacts

    Either I’m tired or crazy, maybe both, but this looks more like a 5 than a 3 to me.

    I'm thinking S-254 small date small fraction. It definitely is NOT the reverse of S-264 the Large date Small fraction.

    Be careful trying to make that comparison using the pictures from Coinfacts in post #3. There are 14 obv dies in 1803, only one has a large date and the positioning of the digits varies considerably on the 13 small date dies. Several of them have the top of the 3 up into or touching the bust. What that picture is trying to show is the distinct vertical serif on the 3 of the large date. None of the small dates have that serif.
