Hello everyone, Today I decided to Metal Detect a park I've been wanting to check out. I did a 7 hour reconnaissance of Sunset Park in Brooklyn NYC ... 2 Silver US Coins #67 & #68 for 2021 1944 - Winged Liberty Head Dime 1951 - Silver Roosevelt 12 Wheat Cents - Oldest was 1919 A few days ago I found my 2nd SBA ever and today I found my 3rd. Two more Bicentennials. Everything
Not a mint error and not worth the medal it’s minted on. Two more nice silver coins and a lot of other nice finds Paddy. G L and you got out and had some fun today.
I grew in Sunset Park Brooklyn. I don't live there anymore, but I always thought there would be some nice finds in that park.
Those Lego people have really gotten a kick out of posing with your loot! Keep ‘em beepin’ ... keep that silver count climbin’!
Here's to finding #79 through #100. Love that drawer pull, if that's what it is. Were you wearing camouflage outfit and carrying a weapon? reconnaissance | rəˈkänəsəns | noun military observation of a region to locate an enemy or ascertain strategic features: LOL
No camo.. But I was definitely on a lookout for my competition from other metal detectorists. My Phoenix Shovel, handheld digger and pepper spray are my weapons!
Recon of detecting sites is a thing. In my case it usually had less to do with other detectorists but plenty to do with “strategic features”. The “lay of the land”, if you will.
That's exactly what I meant. Each park in NYC has different histories, layouts and uses. For example.. I find more silver coins on the slopes of hills than in flat areas such as fields.
