    High quality "common" 20th century IHCs are good values now (imo). The same goes for high quality "common" Buffalo Nickels. Everyone has to have a high quality example of each of these coin types.

    I probably looked at that large cent ten times this afternoon. That is an extremely attractive large cent.

    Thanks Randy. It is one of the nicest ones I think I’ve ever seen. I love the details and the color of it.

    The last Large Cent was 1857 so almost there. Mine is the upright 5 variety. The Red Book says that original sketches of engraver James B. Longacre’s work reveal that the slanting 5’s were a peculiarly of his. The upright 5’s are believed to be the work of an apprentice.
