    Very nice!

    I believe the coin is Norwegian, minted at Kongsberg, Norway, for the mad king Christian VII of Denmark/Norway. The series was minted between 1795 and 1803. I believe it’s Norwegian based on the portrait style. The mint mark is on the reverse, and should be two crossed hammers. Nice find!

    Notice that the 1796 coin has initials H.I.A.B., while the 1798 has I.G.M. These were the initials of the mint masters:
    1776-1797 Hans Jacob Arnold Branth (HIAB).
    1797-1806 Johan Georg Madelung (IGM).
    (There are a very few 1796 1/3 speciedalers with IGM signature.)
