My oldest found cent

    Walked to the corner store just as I do every day, sometimes multiple times, and the change I got back broke the record I had for oldest circulation cent find. What was once 1903, is now 1899.

    This is not my oldest circulation find ever, though, as I once found an 1897 Barber dime in a coinstar.'

    With that being said, I have the feeling that his Androscoggin River metal detecting hunt was a bust.

    Sift through about half a million cents over about 5 years like I did and you will find some incredible stuff. I found 3 dozen IHCs oldest date 1865, and two FEs both dated 1858. 1865ihc131016.jpg 1858fecents.jpg
