Is this East Africa Shilling KM# 28.1 or 28.2?

I can not tell the little differences that would make this 1941-I Shilling either KM# 28.1 or KM# 28.2
Could anyone please help. The coin has a very grey tone and could probably use a dip, but I prefer coins left alone.

I don't know, but if you want opinions, I'd say type I. Type two indicates that EAST AFRICA is close to the edge, which is likely because of the wider rim... the coin in your image appears similar to the standard rim of the other issues pictured in KM.

Something else that caught my eye is that it says type I is "Edge reeding spaced out" and mine just appears evenly reeded all the way around. I do not know if that phrase means that there are some reedings and than blank parts on the edge or if there is just a little more space in between the reedings and that you would probably have to hold a type I and II together to notice the difference?

yeah, without seeing both together it's hard to say, but I would read that and think it meant the reeding was consistant, just seperated wider.

That's a type 1 piece. Type 2 pieces have a considerably smaller leaf under the diamond on the right side, making the design unsymmetrical. Unfortunately, I can't currently find an image of the type 2 issue to demonstrate this, but I'm absolutely certain that you've got a normal type 1 issue there.
