I just don’t get it. A replica of a Morgan dollar that looks crudely engraved versus the original.

I love how you post a photo of a (very lovely) "crudely engraved" original Morgan (meaning 1921) as the subject for this post.

They just do not have the appeal of the original. Given a choice between a modern wannabee and one of these, the newby loses

I wanted "1"... still want "1" but decided not worth the fight, I'll wait a year or 2 and pick up an MS69/70 probably for less then the mint sold em for... Maybe not but one can hope lol...

They are still much more attractive than the 1921 morgans IMO. And much more affordable than most 21's that have good eye appeal too.

I guess I lucked out hard by getting all six this morning. Hopefully I can say the same for the peace dollars.

    I’d say a 69 it’s almost perfect and will be cheaper .

Ugggh. More attractive? You must be kidding. They bear no resemblance to a Morgan Dollar. Honestly, Daniel Carr’s restrike tokens are much more beautiful, and far more rare than the mint’s trashy offerings as anniversary coins.

Pay too much for an inaccurate replica(.999 fine) or buy a nice original coin, own history and pay less.

I got one of the '09-O coins and wisht I had bought one of the 64-D examples. He does a nice job with his overstrikes.

Really beautiful coins. You picked luster beasts. I have 2 65s, and the 64 above. It is nice to have a matched set.

More attractive than the 1921's, yes. But definitely not better than the early pre 1904 morgans.

Also Daniel Carr is a private numismatist. The US mint is the Federal Government... Guess which one is gonna screw up less.

Nothing is more attractive than the early, well-struck clean uncirculated Morgans.
