What do I have?

I have a penny that is blank on one side and some kind of clear coat on the other side. What is it and what is it worth?

It would be interesting to know what it weighs. Chances are, the coin was altered for some other purpose. Meaning, no added value.

 

It looks as if it was a display, it has a little glue on the blank side. And the clear coat is raised.

 

It weighs 2g on my scale.

 

It should weigh 3.11 grams (bronze-pre1983) or 2.5 grams (copper-plated zinc-post1982). It's definitely altered/damaged.

Looks like the copper and design was milled off the obverse and the it was glued to another coin.

 

The Magic Man is correct. Probably part of a Tails-Tails coin. A novelty and if intact, would have had some value. As is...nothing.
