A 1863 Civil War Token. Graded by NGC as a MS-64 RB. Cincinnati, Wright Token. The reverse has Cincinnati in the center, Wright on top and the date on the bottom. 10 stars circle the rim. The obverse has 12 stars over the eagle on the rim. A smaller date appears at 6 o’clock and the eagle is flying to the right. Just 8 years earlier the Flying Eagle Cent was released but that only lasted 3 years and the eagle was flying to the left. I took the photo to show the due rotation of obverse to reverse. Almost a 40 degree difference. In hand the mint luster is still present.
I tried to help you with a quick look into information about “Wright” in the Civil War token reference book on store cards. Unfortunately, it is listed as “business unknown.” The token was made in the Lamphear token shop. This is a common variety with an R-1 rating.
It’s just like the flying eagle but in the opposite direction. Lol I bought this for a fairly low price at an auction. Hope you find one.
