Hello, I found this in circulation. But I have not seen anything like it. If anyone could offer any info or a link, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!! 0627210241_HDR~2.jpg

No.. Heat damage to the Clad Layer.
Extreme heat will cause like a weird bubble separation between the Cupro-Nickel Clad and the inner copper layer.

Definitely damaged. Probably by a heat source.

It is weird looking but just damage. I would put it in a 2x2 and use it for show-n-tell, it's interesting, thanks for sharing.

Welcome to CT. Weird coins like that are always fun to find and give us a chance to educate ourselves. Nice find.

Plenty of sentimental value but an oddity caused by heat damage. If you find it interesting, by all means keep it for show-and-tell with friends and/or your family.

I have some "trash coins" too IE: civil war confederate token someone used aluminum or some other light metal to make a copy in their garage. it's horrible but I kept it anyway.

Thank you all for all your wonderful insight. It's definitely weird looking and I'm definitely going to add it to the collection and it can be show and tell. I can make it sound like I know what I'm talking about. The knowledge is just as exciting as finding the coins.(Well Almost) Again thank you all!!

From an astronomical standpoint, looks like a complex crater. Such as like for example, Tycho.

Your saying the coin was struck by a meteorite? Wow that would be rare! :woot::D
